Robert Downey Jr. returns as wealthy industrialist turned superhero Tony Stark/Iron Man in Iron Man 2.

Jon Favreau has also returned to direct the sequel, which is based on a script by Justin Theroux and sees Stark battle both the U.S. Government and rival industrialist Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) who both want the Iron Man suit for themselves.

Gwenyth Paltrow is back as Stark's love interest Pepper Potts. Yet she faces competition in the form of Scarlett Johansson’s mysterious Black Widow, an undercover spy who poses as Stark's assistant.

Don Cheadle replaces Terrence Howard in the role of Lt. James "Rhodey" Rhodes, Stark's closest confidant who will go on to don his own suit of armour.

Mickey Rourke co-stars as Ivan Ranko/Whiplash, the son of a Russian scientist who holds a mysterious grudge against Stark.

AC/DC provide the soundtrack to what is sure to be a action packed comic book movie of Shakespearean proportions.
